Ondo deputy gov Aiyedatiwa presides over state exco meeting

... following Tinubu's intervention in feud between Aiyedatiwa and Akeredolu

Deputy Governor of Ondo State and the vice chairman of the State Executive Council, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa is currently presiding over the state exco meeting in Akure, the state capital.

The exco meeting is coming after months of political wrangling between the deputy governor and loyalists of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu summoned the warring factions to a peace meeting in Abuja last week.

The latest development signified a potential resolution to the months-long political dispute between Aiyedatiwa and his boss, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The protracted conflict between the deputy governor and Akeredolu had been a cause for concern, as it threatened to hinder the smooth functioning of the state administration.

Speaking before the commencement of the meeting, a top cabinet member who craved anonymity stated that “the exco, chaired by Aiyedatiwa, who will preside over the council, marks a crucial step towards restoring harmony not only within the cabinet but in the entire state.

“The intervention of Tinubu really did magic, and I believe that we are all on the same page towards prioritising the development of the state instead of unnecessary infighting.”

Meanwhile, as of press time, details of the agenda for the meeting are still unknown.

Aiyedatiwa had been battling impeachment proceedings, which made him leave the state in a survival battle against the plot.
