Gunshots Disrupt NANS Convention In Abuja

Those injured are currently seeking medical attention in an undisclosed hospital.

Numerous students were hurt by gunshots during Friday’s National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) congress in Abuja.

At this time, the injured are receiving care in an unidentified hospital.

The purpose of the convention, which was held at the Old Parade Ground, was to choose new NANS executives to succeed the departing ones, who were led by Usman Barambu.

The shootings were said to have started after thugs loyal to a particular candidate began attacking opposition delegates.

Some videos from the event sighted showed some students scampering for safety during the heavy shootings on Friday.

It was gathered that the shootings were brought to an end following the intervention of security agencies.

It was learned that the gunshots at the conference site, which is near the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, continued on Friday after they began on Thursday.
