Adamawa SEC approves N225.8bn budget for 2024

The Adamawa State Executive Council has given its approval to a budget proposal totaling N225.8 billion for the 2024 fiscal year. Termed as the “Budget of Reengineering,” this proposal received the council’s endorsement during its meeting chaired by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Mrs. Neido Kafulto, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, highlighted that the budget proposal was meticulously crafted by the government, taking into account the pressing needs of the citizens.

She addressed the press after the meeting held in the Council Chambers at the Government House in Yola.

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Emmanuel Piridimso, who also spoke to newsmen, explained that N111.3 billion, representing 49.3 per cent of the proposal, was earmarked for recurrent services, while N114.5 billion, representing 50.7 per cent, is to cover capital expenditure.

Piridimso disclosed that the proposed budget will be presented by Governor Fintiri to the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Friday, December 8.
