Oba Ghandi Olaoye, the recently appointed Soun of Ogbomosoland, has officially received the instrument of office and staff of office from Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
At a formal ceremony held at the Ogbomoso Township Stadium, Governor Makinde gave the Staff of Office to Oba Ghandi Olaoye, popularly known as Orumogege III.
Oba Olaoye reaffirmed his dedication to a clear vision that would promote Ogbomosoland’s prosperity and peace in his victory address.
In addition, he presented a detailed 25-year plan, which he will be revealing in the upcoming months.
Drawing from his extensive experience in business and pastoral leadership spanning over three decades, Oba Olaoye pledged to apply his acquired skills and relationships to lead the community.
Transitioning from his previous role as a church pastor to assuming the mantle of a community leader, Oba Olaoye emphasized his dedication to shepherding the people towards progress and development. He urged all contestants and stakeholders to collaborate to propel the town forward.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished personalities, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja III, Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, former Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Lekan Balogun, former Minister of Information Lai Muhammed, and several other eminent figures who graced the occasion with their esteemed presence.
