The Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported the arrest of 103 individuals and the seizure of 1,458 kg of illicit drugs in December.
According to Mr. Samaila Danmallam, the state NDLEA Commander, those apprehended comprised drug traffickers, dealers, and users.
The confiscated substances encompassed cocaine, heroin, cannabis, tramadol, methamphetamine, and other psychotropic substances, totaling 1,458.709 kilograms.
Additionally, the command disbanded 26 illicit drug joints, secured six convictions, and arraigned 24 suspects within the same month.
In a related development, fifteen suspects allegedly involved in an assault were arrested and arraigned, leading to the recovery of some stolen items.
The incident targeted a bus transporting Christmas presents for the Mogajis in the Oja’ba area of Ibadan South East Local Government Area.
Reportedly, one of the Mogajis was present during the assault.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend more suspects who fled the scene following the incident, as reported to the Mapo Police Station.
