The choice was made in the early hours of December 27, 2023, the Wednesday, in response to the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
According to a source, Aiyedatiwa would be sworn in by 4 p.m. today.
Following a protracted fight with leukaemia and prostrate cancer, Akeredolu passed away.
The former governor was crippled by both illnesses for several months before to his passing.
Akeredolu was sixty-seven years old when he passed away.
