- Dr. Ahmed Audi, the Commandant-General of the Corps, advocated for these promotions due to the extended stagnation experienced by numerous officers
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) recently honored approximately 1,000 newly promoted officers at its headquarters in Abuja during the 2023 end-of-year fiesta.
These officers were part of the 21,000 personnel promoted out of the 29,000 who participated in the promotion examinations, addressing the prolonged stagnation that many officers had faced.
Dr. Ahmed Audi, the Commandant-General of the Corps, advocated for these promotions due to the extended stagnation experienced by numerous officers.
Following the examinations, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, along with the promotion board, sanctioned the promotion of these 21,000 personnel.
Olusola Odumosu, the Commandant of the FCT Command, commended both the Minister of Interior and the Commandant-General for their efforts in facilitating these promotions. He urged the newly decorated officers to demonstrate dedication in their duties and reassured those awaiting promotions that measures were in progress to address existing promotion backlogs.
Among those promoted were five senior officers ascending from Assistant Commandants to Deputy Commandants and over 20 officers progressing from Chief Superintendents to Assistant Commandants.
