Eight members of a family have lost their lives in a fatal road mishap in Nigeria’s south east state of Imo.
The auto crash happened at the Amanwozuzu junction in Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state, the local police said on Friday.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ikeduru LGA, Lucky Ahiole, confirmed the tragic incident to journalists in Owerri on Friday.
Ahiole disclosed that the accident which occurred at about 3.00p.m on Friday resulted in the death of the eight family members in a Sienna car conveying them.
He said the Sienna vehicle collided with a stationary truck carrying rods, killing the victims on the spot.
He stated, “Eight people died and we have taken them to a morgue. We had to break the Sienna vehicle to bring out the dead bodies.’’
