The troubled former commissioner for Lands in Imo State, Noble Atulegwu Abiaso, has been released from Police custody.
Atulegwu was arrested and detained on the orders of the governor of the state, Hope Uzodimma. He would then go on to spend 40 days in detention before he regained his freedom.
Atulegwe ordeal was connected to allegations of land-grabbing and other related matters.
He was detained at the police headquarters in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
It was gathered that the sacked commissioner was released after all the investigations by the State CID of the Police Command.
Atulegwu was granted bail to enable him reunite with his family after over a month.
However, a source from Imo Government House, Owerri, who spoke in confidence with newsmen, disclosed that more actions and investigations were ongoing on the matter.
According to the source, he will be called upon immediately after the festive period for more questioning and thereafter charged to a court of competent jurisdiction.
