- Yusuf who clear air for the first time since the ailing top ranking official was flown abroad for advanced medical attention
- The Governor confirmed that the SSG is recuperating and will take over his position upon his return.
Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, denied reports on Tuesday that he had once got into a fistfight with Dr. Abdullahi Bappa Bichi, the secretary to the state government.
“No amount of propaganda will deter his Government from achieving it’s desired goals,” declared the Governor at the swearing-in ceremony for the new Permanent Secretaries and Special Advisers at the Africa House wing of Government House.
For the first time since the ill top ranking officer was transported overseas for intensive medical care, Yusuf, who cleared the air, revealed that the choice to name an acting SSG was made due to the position’s delicate nature.
He said “Because, we have appointed the State Head of Service as acting SSG, does not mean we sacked Bichi, we cannot allowed the position to be vacant because of its sensitive nature we cannot allowed it’s like that”.
Yusuf said: “I personally overheard some persons speaking with full authority in the local Radio Programs that we have exchanged deadly blow’s between myself and the SSG”.
He revealed that “You, know some people’s who are jobless and see politics as their sources of living always tried to create rumours to create unnecessary tension, but this time they have failed woefully”.
The Governor assured that, the “SSG is recuperating, and as soon as he returns he will take charge his position and continue where he stopped.”
He, however, made it clear that Bichi’s job is waiting for him , and want to assure all that he is still in charge.
