- A member of the state working committee of the APC, who hails from Akwanga local government and spearheaded the negotiation, disclosed that they arrived at N10m, which was eventually paid.

Following their abduction on New Year’s Day, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, the chairman of Nasarawa state’s Akwanga local government area, and his political godfather, Adamu Umar Custom, have been released.
Reliable information has emerged that the kidnappers received N10 million after an original demand of N50 million was negotiated in order to free them.
They eventually arrived at N10m, which was paid, according to a member of the APC’s state working committee who is from Akwanga local government and led the negotiations. However, the member begged to remain anonymous.
The council chairman and his political godfather have been re-united with their families.
Though the state police command had mobilise its personnel to trail the kidnappers and ensure the release of the council boss and his political ally.
