Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has issued a call to prosperous individuals in the state, urging them to collaborate with his administration in undertaking projects that directly impact people’s lives.
During a special New Year program broadcasted from his office, Governor Yusuf emphasized that the state has been blessed with a significant number of wealthy individuals and industrialists whose contributions could substantially enhance the well-being of the people. He stressed the importance of collective efforts to improve the lives of the less privileged in the state.
Governor Yusuf revealed that his administration has established well-defined policies in areas such as the Education Trust Fund, Security Trust Fund, and Social Trust Fund. He highlighted the potential impact of contributions from affluent individuals in realizing these initiatives.
Drawing inspiration from other regions where affluent individuals routinely undertake projects and fund programs for the betterment of their immediate communities, the governor expressed his expectation for similar support in Kano State.
“When I came to office, I was expecting such business moguls to approach us with selfless contributions that can be justifiably used in executing projects aimed at improving the lives of the citizenry but to no avail,” Governor Yusuf stated. He passionately appealed to these individuals to emulate their counterparts from other parts of the country and contribute to making Kano State a better place for its residents.
The governor’s plea underscores the significance of public-private partnerships in driving development and improving the quality of life for citizens in the state.
