Ten stores have been burned by a wildfire outside the Federal College of Education, FCE, in Yola.
The cause of the Saturday fire was reportedly bush burning.
The victims of the tragedy were distraught and bemoaned the loss of goods they claimed were worth millions of naira.
Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the deputy governor of Adamawa State, cautioned the locals against bush burning during his visit to the scene.
She said: “This is the dry season. The Harmattan winds are very strong. People should stop indiscriminate bush burning, especially around residential areas.”
One of the victims, Mercy Paul, said she lost all her hairdressing salon equipment to the fire.
