- He was declared winner of the party’s primary for the Surulere 1 seat in the house of representatives.
Fuad Kayode Laguda has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for federal legislative by-election in Lagos.
This is as he was declared winner of the party’s primary election for the Surulere 1 seat in the house of representatives.
Laguda is in the race to replace Femi Gbajabiamila, former speaker of the house, who represented the Lagos constituency before his appointment as chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu.
During the primary, which held at the Teslim Balogun stadium on Saturday, Laguda edged out Kabir Lawal, Jamila Omobolanle and Abdul Raheem Owokoniran, to nick the ticket.
He secured all 30 votes of the delegates that voted in the election.
The nationwide by-election into vacant political offices is slated for February 3.
The APC Surulere primary election was conducted by a five-member committee chaired by Buba Yusuf, while Dapo Lam-Adesina served as secretary.
