President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo following his successful re-election. In a statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu lauded the government and the people of DR Congo for ensuring the smooth conduct of the recent elections.
The Nigerian president also praised the citizens of DR Congo for their commitment to democratic norms, emphasizing their responsible exercise of voting rights without resorting to actions detrimental to the sustenance of democracy.
“It is gratifying that the recent elections in DR Congo were concluded successfully. Democracy stands resilient on the continent. I extend my congratulations to President Tshisekedi on his well-deserved victory. The President has exhibited statesmanship in handling regional and continental affairs. Africa will overcome any challenges through governance by popular consent, and democracy will flourish,” remarked Tinubu.
President Tinubu expressed his best wishes to President Tshisekedi for a successful term in office, foreseeing positive developments under his leadership.

Buhari’s administration not a failure — Ngige
Former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, on Saturday faulted claims that the immediate past administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari was a failure.
Ngige said Buhari’s administration carried out some remarkable projects like completing the Second Niger Bridge, school feeding programmes, Enugu Airport, among others.
He spoke while addressing journalists in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The former minister also lamented the rationalization of APC in Anambra State.
