Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has extended an invitation to opposition parties in Benue State. He urged them to join hands with Governor Hyacinth Alia in accelerating the state’s socio-economic development following his victory at the Supreme Court.
In a congratulatory message to Governor Alia, Ganduje underscored that the court’s ruling affirmed both the “Perfect will of God and the undeniable choice” of the people of Benue. The statement, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, praised the judiciary for reinforcing confidence in the democratic process.
Ganduje expressed satisfaction with Governor Alia’s transparent and accountable leadership since taking office in May last year. He called on opposition parties to set aside differences and collaborate in fostering the state’s progress.
In a related development, the Secretary to the Government of Benue State, Prof. Joseph Alakali, emphasized that with the victory at the apex court, Governor Alia could now concentrate on delivering good governance without distractions. Alakali described the election litigation as a testament to the strength of Nigeria’s democracy.
The SSG, through his media aide, Philip Salemkaan, encouraged the PDP candidate from the last governorship election to cooperate with Governor Alia in advancing the state. He urged political stakeholders to prioritize good governance over political affiliations and contribute constructively to the state’s development.
