- Mu’azu explained that during the year under review, the command traced some of the major dealers, arrested and prosecuted them.

In Jigawa State, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, detained 477 alleged drug dealers and users.
This was said by State Commandant Mu’azu Aliyu Danmusa in a news conference regarding the accomplishments of the command in 2023.
According to him, the arrest came about as a result of intensive operations carried out in all 27 local government districts to combat drug usage and trafficking.
Mu’azu clarified that the command had located, apprehended, and prosecuted a few of the main dealers during the year in question.
He said out of the number arrested, the command had secured the conviction of 192 drug cases at the Federal High Court Dutse while other cases are still pending.
The commandant said the command has also embarked on massive public awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and also deployed personnel in all the state borders to curtail drug trafficking in the state.
He appealed to the local government chairmen to cooperate with the agency and provide offices for the immediate deployment of personnel into the local governments.
Mu’azu also commended the Jigawa State Government for all the support and cooperation given to the command.
He urged Jigawa residents to give the agency any useful information that would lead to the arrest of the drug barons.
