  • The apex court while dismissing the appeal described it as a waste of judicial time and resources
  • The apex court dismissed the appeal filed by Sandy Onor, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Bassey Otu’s election as Cross River State’s governor has been upheld by the Supreme Court.

The appeal filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Sandy Onor was dismissed by the highest court on Friday.

“Appeal is without merit, a waste of judicial time and resources,” declared Helen Ogunwumiju, who read the lead judgement.

The appellants were deemed to have failed to show their case by Justice Helen Ogunwumiju in the lead judgement.
