The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, assented to the N2.2tn 2024 Appropriation Bill passed into law by the state House of Assembly last week.
The signing of the budget was done at the Conference Hall of the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
The state House of Assembly, on Friday, January 5, passed into law the N2.2tn 2024 appropriation bill at a plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa.
“A bill for a law to authorise the issuance and appropriation of N952,430,566,998 from the Consolidated Revenue Fund for Recurrent Expenditure and N1,315,545,553,871 from Development Fund for Capital Expenditure thereby totalling a budget size of N2,267,976,120,869 for the year ending 31st December 2024 be passed into law,” the Speaker said on the floor of the House as the budget report was read a third time.
The speaker appreciated the lawmakers’ commitment and teamwork in the quick passage of the Appropriation Bill.
Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, presented a budget estimate of N2.2 trillion for the 2024 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly.
The budget was entitled “Budget of Renewal”, and was presented at the Chamber of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Assembly Complex, Alausa, Ikeja.
