Femi Adesina, the former special adviser to Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, asserted that many individuals lack a true understanding of who Muhammadu Buhari really is. Adesina made this statement while discussing the book on the former President titled “Working with Buhari: Reflections of A Special Adviser, Media, and Publicity (2015-2023)” in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
The book, launched in Abuja on Tuesday, aims to shed light on the character and actions of President Buhari during his tenure.
Adesina explained, “Many people don’t know who Muhammadu Buhari truly is. There are various narratives about President Muhammadu Buhari, depending on the perspective. It’s like the story of people and an elephant, where each person describes it based on where they touched.”
Highlighting the need for the book, Adesina continued, “There are multiple perspectives on President Muhammadu Buhari, influenced by what individuals think they know and their exposure to him. That’s why I believe this book is necessary, so that the real and true Muhammadu Buhari can be known.”
Adesina defended Buhari against accusations of nepotism and bigotry, stating, “Muhammadu Buhari is someone who loves Nigeria dearly. He is a fair-minded man. Those who called him a nepotist or bigot don’t know him. He is a man who will never seek to impose his religion on you.” The book aims to provide insights into Buhari’s character and dispel misconceptions surrounding his leadership.
