Nigeria’s Super Eagles have defeated Ivory Coast at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Super Eagles had to dig deep to earn the hard-fought victory against the host nation. The pulsating match was played at the Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé.

The first half ended in a stalemate as both team could not find the back of the net.

Victor Osimhen missed a good chance to give Jose Peseiro’s side the lead in the first half as he kicked the ball over the bar following a fine through pass from Samuel Chukwueze.
