Lagos mechanic arrested for stealing customer’s car

One Abisodun Ilori, a mechanic, has been apprehended over theft of a customer’s car in Lagos State.

The 54-year-old suspect was arrested in the Isheri-Oshun area of the state by the police.

Ilori’s arrest followed the complaints by a resident in the area about his missing Nissan Xterra, it’s gathered.

It was gathered that Ilori went to the owner of the vehicle house on Sunday while he was away at church, collected the keys to the vehicle from his daughter and drove it away to an unknown destination.

According go Punch, “The DPO immediately detailed surveillance and anti-car theft team to the scene.

“The suspect was later arrested through intelligence gathering and he led the officers to 47-year-old Charles Nnoli who received the vehicle from him.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, while confirming the incident, said the receiver was also arrested and the vehicle was recovered.

He added that an investigation was ongoing into the incident
