Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has rejected the All Progressives Congress acting National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’s invitation to join the ruling party, following the Kano APC stakeholders’ decision to reconcile with the Kwankwasiyya movement.
Despite speculation that Ganduje complied with President Bola Tinubu’s directive, Yusuf remains steadfast in his refusal, with his Director-General, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, stating that the government is puzzled about the motive behind the call.
He said, “Well, like every other folks in Kano, the Governor of Ganduje’s calls via social media platforms, we believe, as a former governor, he should know the right channel of communication, if he sincerely wants to pass a message to the governor.
“And as for whether or not the governor will join APC, I can confirm to you that my boss has no intention to dump his party, the NNPP for any other party. Let me repeat, the governor has no interest in joining any party because he’s satisfied with the NNPP.”
