In a pivotal AFCON 2023 round of 16 clash against Cameroon, Super Eagles’ defender William Troost-Ekong is set to make a comeback as the captain. Troost-Ekong, who secured Nigeria’s victory over Ivory Coast with a decisive goal, missed the previous match against Guinea-Bissau due to injury.
The 31-year-old central defender will be supported by reliable partner Calvin Bassey, who has established himself as a key figure in the backline since an impressive performance against Ivory Coast.
