Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, says there’s no iota of truth in the reports claiming he will leave Arsenal this summer.
Following Jurgen Klopp announcement last week that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the season, reports emerged yesterday that the Arsenal gaffer may also be contemplating a departure from the Emirate after this season.
Arteta, however, described the reports, which also linked him to a move to Barcelona, as fake news.
Arteta said the reports were upsetting, adding that he still has a lot to do at Arsenal.
The Spaniard spoke at his pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League tie with Nottingham Forest, on Tuesday.
Reports had over the weekend emerged that the former Manchester City assistant coach would leave the Gunners at the end of the season.
“This fake news about me leaving in June makes me upset. I’m immersed in a beautiful journey with my players, the staff, our beautiful people,” Arteta was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying.
“There is still a lot to do here at Arsenal. “I always said I’m in the right place”.
Arteta led Arsenal to a second-place finish last season.
Arteta’s side currently sit in third position on the Premier League table this season.
The North London club are five points behind leaders Liverpool on the log
