Charles Idahosa, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), has issued a stern warning to the party’s leadership, urging them to uphold the agreement made in 2020 with former House of Representatives member Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama. The adherence to this agreement, according to Idahosa, is crucial for the party’s success in the upcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State.

Speaking in Benin, Idahosa emphasized that the PDP must fulfill the promises made to Ogbeide-Ihama during the party’s primaries in 2020. These promises were made when Ogbeide-Ihama graciously yielded his ticket to Governor Godwin Obaseki after being disqualified by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Idahosa, who played a pivotal role in Ogbeide-Ihama’s withdrawal from the 2020 gubernatorial race, stressed the importance of honoring commitments to ensure party loyalty and strengthen its standing in Edo State.

He remarked, “The time to fulfill the promise and reward party loyalty is here. If, by any error, they deny Ogbeide-Ihama the ticket he deserves, considering the arrangement for Governor Obaseki in 2020, PDP is finished in Edo State.”

This call for adherence to the 2020 agreement underscores the significance of maintaining trust and honoring commitments within the party for a successful political future in the state.
