Angola secured their place in the quarter-finals with a hard-fought 3-0 victory over Namibia, setting up a clash with Nigeria. Tuesday’s last round of 16 ties saw Mali defeat Burkina Faso 2-1, earning them a place in the quarter-final against the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire. South Africa emerged victorious against the Atlas Lions of Morocco with a 2-0 win, setting up a quarter-final clash against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde.
