Governor Abba Yusuf has pledged full cooperation to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in the anti-corruption efforts within Kano.

The ICPC spokesperson, Azuka Ogugua, conveyed this on Thursday in Abuja, detailing that the assurance was given during a courtesy visit by the ICPC management, led by Chairman Musa Aliyu.

Governor Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the visit, applauding President Bola Tinubu’s choice of ICPC boss as a testament to his credibility and unwavering commitment to the Nigerian project.

He also commended the government for establishing mechanisms like ICPC and EFCC to combat impunity in the system.

“It may interest the ICPC management to know that my administration’s zero tolerance on corruption and related tendencies remain sacrosanct.

“Thus, in ensuring the successful implementation of this government’s anti-corruption policies, I prioritised a preventive approach without compromising the existing curative mechanisms in the state’s Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC),” he said.

Earlier, the ICPC boss thanked the governor for granting the commission audience, explaining that the ICPC had held a management retreat in Kano, and it was only proper to pay courtesy to the governor.

He recalled the previous partnership of the ICPC with the Kano’s PCACC in training, calling for a continued partnership with the agency in the fight against corruption.
