Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State is set to unveil two impactful books on drug abuse authored by Muhammed Ibrahim, the Kwara state commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The book launch, scheduled for Tuesday, will feature the presence of NDLEA Chairman Mohammed Buba Marwa at the Banquet Hall, opposite the Government House, Ilorin.
The two books, titled ‘Drug Slaves’ and ‘Look Before You Leap,’ have also been translated into Hausa and Yoruba languages, amplifying their reach and impact.
Yusuf Sagaya, a seasoned engineer and businessman, will preside over the event, with federal lawmakers and members of the state houses of assembly expected to grace the occasion. The keynote speaker, Isa Aremu, and guest speaker, Yusuf Ali, along with other distinguished personalities, including Michael Imoudu, the Director General of the National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), will contribute to the insightful discussions.
Highlighting the diversity of the event, a troupe from the Department of Performing Arts at the University of Ilorin will stage one of the books, adding a dynamic and engaging element to the book launch.
The organizers emphasized that these books are part of a comprehensive effort to combat drug and substance abuse in society. The launch serves as a valuable tool to disseminate vital knowledge and raise awareness for the betterment of Nigerian society.
