The CAF Technical Study Group (TSG) has released its initial assessment of the ongoing CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023, affirming that the tournament has surpassed expectations on the field.
As the competition progresses into its thrilling final stages, 50 matches have been officially played, providing ample data for analysis by the team of experts comprising data analysts, technical directors, former footballers, and coaches.
Raul Chipenda, CAF’s Director of Technical and Development, expressed delight with the tournament’s quality, stating, “We are witnessing an exceptional competition. This AFCON stands out as the best in history across multiple aspects.”
Chipenda highlighted the significant reduction in the gap between perceived smaller and larger teams, emphasizing the tactical prowess of coaches and the disciplined approach adopted by teams in various formations.
