The 2024 Staff Promotion Examination has been postponed indefinitely by the National Examinations Council (NECO).
Reactions had been raised to the examination that was set to take place in Minna, Niger State, on February 14 and 15, 2024.
Staff members who meet the requirements for advancement have been told by the exam body to report to the office between January 13, 2024, and January 15, 2024.
The workers, however, objected to the development because of the widespread instability in the nation.
The postponement was made in accordance with the instruction of the House of Representatives‘ Committee on Basic Examination Bodies, according to a statement released on Friday by Azeez Sani, Acting Director, Directorate of Information and Digital Communication.
“The Committee has also scheduled a meeting with the Registrar/CEO of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi for Monday, 19″ February 2024.
“With this development, all NECO Staff who are due for promotion this year should note that the exercise has been put on hold indefinitely,” he added.
