The Executive Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Hon. Nasara Rabo, has honored Divisional Police Officer Idris Ibrahim with a reward of N1 million.

This commendation comes as a result of Ibrahim’s refusal to accept a bribe from a suspected kidnapper attempting to obstruct an investigation. In a letter of recommendation issued on Monday,

Rabo praised DPO Ibrahim for apprehending a kidnapper on January 22, 2024, who had offered a substantial bribe to impede or distort the investigation process. The DPO’s rejection of the bribe reflects his commitment to justice and patriotic principles, as emphasized by Rabo.

“This singular effort you made has not only made the Nigeria Police Force proud but it had also made the good people of Kagarko Local Government Area, the good people of Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large, adding this is a testimony that with the calibre of officers like you in service insecurity and other criminality that bedeviled our society today will become history.

“Under the foregoing, my Council and the management staff of Kagarko LGA hereby serve you with a formal letter of commendation and also present you with a token gift of one million naira as a morale booster to make you put more patriotic effort in dealing with criminality in the LGA and the country at large,” the chairman added.

Nasara urged all police personnel in the state to always uphold the ethics of the professional by refusing to be compromised in the discharge of their duties.

He further prayed to Almighty God to continue to encourage him to put in his best in the protection of the lives and properties of the good people of Nigeria.

In January, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command revealed details of how the Al-Kadriyar sisters and other abducted victims were rescued from the bandits’ den in Kajuru forest in Kaduna State by a joint team of policemen and soldiers of the Nigerian Army on Saturday night.

About 23 persons were abducted on January 2, 2024, in the Zuma 1 area of Kawu, in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja.

The police on Sunday confirmed that all the victims, including five sisters whose abduction had raised nationwide concerns, were rescued at about 11 pm on Saturday, and had since been reunited with their families.
