Firearms recovered as troops kill three Boko Haram terrorists in Yobe


The Nigerian military says its men have killed three members of the deadly Boko Haram terrorist group in Yobe state.

The terrorists were killed by Troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, on Sunday.

The notorious terrorists are known for enforcing Zakkat levies on Maltari village, near Kukareta in the north east.

The terrorists were routed during a gunfight with the troops after they received a report at about 4am on Sunday about terrorists’ elements.

It was learnt that the troops, in conjunction with Yobe State Hunters group, were tasked to conduct a special patrol in the area.

They engaged and naturalized three terrorists.

The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles with two magazines containing 16 rounds of 7.62MM special ammunition, two hand grenades and one motorcycle.

The neutralised terrorists were believed to be part of the group that attacked troops’ location at Kukareta on Sunday, 4th February, 2024.
