- Abure has been in the news in recent weeks over alleged financial impropriety and embezzlement of over N3 billion belonging to Labour Party.
The embattled National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister Julius Abure, has been apprehended.
Abure was arrested by heavily armed police officers in Benin City, Edo State, on Wednesday.
Images and video of Abure sitting on the floor as he was being pushed and shoved into a waiting vehicle by the policemen have gone viral on social media.
Not much is known about his arrest as details of the incident are still hazy as the time of this report.

However, in recent weeks, Abure has been dogged by scandal of alleged financial impropriety and embezzlement of over N3 billion belonging to Labour Party.
Recall that Oluchi Oparah, the now suspended National Treasure, had accused Abure of misappropriation of N3.5bn raised through nomination form sales and fundraising activities leading up to the 2023 general elections.
