The police command in Adamawa says its has rescued a 16 year-old female victim in Gombi LGA of the state.
In a statement in Yola on Wednesday, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, police public relations officer in the state said the rescue operation was carried out by its “crack squad” in collaboration with hunters in the Gombi LGA.
Nguroje said that the operation was initiated following a tip-off, leading to the arrest of three suspected kidnappers in Fotta village of Gombi.
“The suspects were all arrested at a certain house in a remote side of Fotta Village, where they camped their kidnapped female victim and demanded N8,000,000 ransom” he said.
“A victim whose name was withheld was kidnapped three days ago from Buma Village, Shani LGA, Borno State. The vicitm is currently receiving medical care at an undisclosed facility”.
Nguroje urged the public to provide timely information to the police, particularly those with questionable character.
