Following a boat mishap in Lagos’ Ikoyi area of the state , 15 people were rescued and two confirmed deaths have been confirmed.
The incident happened at Powerline, the Ikoyi Link Bridge, on Wednesday evening.
After a slone accident, it was discovered that the 17-passenger boat was headed for Ikorodu when it unexpectedly collapsed in.
The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) claims that an increase in tide was the cause of the collision.
It said that the rider rammed into a high-tension pole that was flooded by water which led to the capsize of the boat.

It said: “The body of an adult female was retrieved from the water and subsequently transported from the incident scene to LASWA head office at Falomo before being was confirmed dead by the LRU paramedics.
“The adult female remains have been bagged and await the arrival of the SEHMU officials.
The search for the body of the adult male is ongoing,” it said.
