- The court ordered Ahmed to deposit N50 million to the court and produce surety that has landed properties in Ilorin, among others
Justice Evelyn Anyadike of the Federal High Court, Ilorin, has granted bail to the former governor of Kwara State, Alh AbdulFatah Ahmed.
The bail conditions are that he should deposit N50 million to the court and produce surety that has landed properties in Ilorin, among others.
He is expected to be kept in the custody of the EFCC until those bail conditions are perfected.
Meanwhile, three journalists representing print and broadcast media outfits were later allowed into the Federal High Court to cover the trial of the immediate past governor of Kwara State, AbdulFatah Ahmed, who is being tried over alleged N10 billion financial misconduct.
The admittance of the select journalists was after several interventions, while others who had hitherto stayed on the main road were allowed into the court premises, awaiting the outcome of the trial.
Ahmed was brought into the court with the white bus of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, around 8:50 am for the trial.
The trial commenced at about 9:30 am following the arrival of the judge.
The police and court registrar had earlier barred journalists from entering the court, saying they were acting on orders from above.
