- 2Baba and his gang had on September 8, 2023, allegedly killed Angbashim in an ambush in Odiemudie Community
The remains of one Gift Okpara, aka, 2Baba, a notorious and fearsome criminal, has been exhumed and paraded by the the police in Rivers state.
Okpara was responsible for many atrocities and heinous crimes in the state, including the killing of former Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ahoada Division, Late Bako Angbashim, a Superintendent of Police.
2Baba and his gang had on September 8, 2023, gruesome murdered Angbashim in an ambush in Odiemudie Community, Ahaoda East Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Olatunji Disu, had in earlier briefing, disclosed that 2baba, the prime suspected in the killing of Angbashim, was killed during a joint operation in a forest in Ahoada.
However, yesterday, the police said it has traced and exhumed the corpse of the killed notorious killer and cultist, adding that they were able to identify him through a large Tattoo on his left shoulder.
Disu while displaying the corpse of 2Baba hinted that the tactical operatives in the early hours of Friday, based on credible information, successfully located the shallow grave in Ebrass, Ahoada West LGA, Rivers State, where the notorious Iceland cult leader was buried.
Disu, who displayed the corpse at the Command’s Headquarters on Moscow Road, yesterday, reiterated the importance of collaboration and support in the fight against crime.
He urged the public to continue providing the police with timely and accurate information that can aid in identifying and apprehending criminals.
The CP assured the residents of the State that the Police Command remains committed to the safety and security of the state, adding that they will continue operations to apprehend other members of 2baba’s gang and dismantle any remaining criminal networks.
He called on the public to remain vigilant and report every suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities and thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun; the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, all officers of the command and residents of the state for the success
