Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has said the Nigerian economy was already in ruins when President Bola Tinubu assumed office.
He said the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration bequeathed a “dead economy” to Tinubu
Speaking during in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Fayose said Tinubu is trying to fix the country despite the plethora of challenges facing it.
According to him, President Tinubu’s effort to solve Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges is commendable despite that he inherited a “dead economy.”
Fayose slammed Buhari for “taking Nigeria backwards,” urging President Tinubu to do more and solve the country’s issues.
He said, “Considering what Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of Nigeria inherited and our diversity, put all these together, the gentleman is trying.
“My advise to the President is: stay focus, remember that you gave your word to Nigerians to make this country better than you met it. Please stay focus. Don’t be distracted.”
