The Yobe State Police Command says that it has arrested 30 people involved in criminal activity around the state in cooperation with sister security agencies.
This was revealed on Monday to newsmen in Damaturu by DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Command’s public relations officer.
He claimed that two men who were detained were Ibrahim Mohammed, 22, and Mohammed Garba, 25, who had allegedly fatally stabbed a man after breaking into his home to steal.
“The Command sympathises with the bereaved family and assures the community of appropriate punishment on the culprits.
“However, most of the culprits arrested have served imprisonment terms in the past from similar offences”, he noted.
He further disclosed that items recovered from the suspects include: a knife and five cellphones of different brands.
“Meanwhile, discrete investigation has since commenced for subsequent prosecution as the command urges good members of the communities to support security agencies by providing useful information of any suspicious movements and criminals’ hideout”, he said.
