Initially scheduled for 8 am, the protest in Kano commenced at 9:30 am, according to Daily Trust. This is as NLC is engaged in a two-day extensive protest in various states, addressing the nation’s challenging economic conditions.
In Lagos the members of the labour union were seen in their large numbers in Computer Village, Ikeja, and on other adjoining streets to demand immediate intervention from the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government to ease the hardships citizens are currently facing in the country.
It was gathered that the Kano state Chairman of the NLC, Comrade Kabiru Inuwa is nowhere to be found at the venue, Race Course ground, as of press time.
Daily Trust reports that the NLC protests in the past in the state usually got full attendance of different unions, organisations and groups.
However, there is presence of security operatives, especially police, on the protest ground.
