Paul Pogba reacts after being handed 4-year football ban over doping

Paul Pogba disagreed with the verdict which found him guilty for doping

Following the announcement of a four-year football ban by the Tribunale Nazionale, Paul Pogba expressed his dismay at the decision.

In a statement via his IG page, Pogba stated that he had been informed of the verdict and firmly believed it to be incorrect.

Expressing profound sadness, shock, and heartbreak, Pogba lamented the perceived loss of everything he had painstakingly built in his professional football career.

He asserted his innocence, vehemently denying any knowledge or intention of consuming supplements that contravened anti-doping regulations.

Emphasizing his commitment to fair play and integrity, Pogba declared that as a professional athlete, he would never resort to using banned substances to enhance his performance.

He vehemently denied disrespecting or cheating fellow athletes and supporters of any teams he had been associated with.

Pogba further stated his intention to appeal the decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) as a means to seek justice and clear his name.

He expressed confidence that once he was free of legal restrictions, the full story would come to light, vindicating his stance on the matter.

In his words:

“I have today been informed of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping’s decision and believe that the verdict is incorrect.

I am sad, shocked and heartbroken that everything I have built in my professional playing career has been taken away from me.

When I am free of legal restrictions the full story will become clear, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations.

As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against.

As a consequence of the decision announced today I will appeal this before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”
