One Adamu Gambo Hudu, a lecturer, has been arrested for allegedly raping a female student in Potiskum, the police in Yobe State have said.
According to the police, the lecturer is an employee of the State General Hospital.
He is also a lecturer at Al-Ma’arifa, a private college of health sciences, where the victim is schooling.
Both institutions are located in Potiskum, a popular thriving commercial town in the north east state.

Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Command, DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, disclosed the development on Saturday.
He added further investigation is being carried out on the issue.
The PPRO said, “The suspect is in our custody. He was arrested for alleged rape, molestation and breach of trust. Further investigation is ongoing”.
The Registrar of Al-Ma’arif College of Health Sciences and Technology, Usman Alhaji Saleh, also confirmed the arrest to newsmen.
