Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has attributed the recent looting of a government warehouse in Abuja to the current administration’s economic policies.

Speaking on Channels TV on Monday, Adegboruwa stated that these policies have led to widespread hunger nationwide.

He highlighted the removal of fuel subsidies, escalating fuel prices, closure of factories, and high unemployment as significant contributors to the prevailing “crisis of survival” faced by Nigerians.

Adegboruwa emphasized, “I believe that presently, people across all states of Nigeria are experiencing mass hunger due to the current administration’s economic policies.”

He further elaborated, “The removal of fuel subsidies has imposed hardship on the people regarding transportation. Factories are shutting down, leading to high unemployment rates.”

“The cost of living has skyrocketed while earning capacity remains stagnant. This implies a widespread survival crisis across all federation states,” he added.

Regarding the looting incident at the NEMA warehouse, Adegboruwa remarked that it is not an isolated event, citing random attacks on trucks carrying foodstuffs as further evidence of people’s frustration with the government’s economic policies.

He concluded by emphasizing the urgent need for the president and his economic team to reconsider and adjust the current system to ensure the survival of the populace.
