Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, launched the Edo Emergency Medical Services on Tuesday, emphasizing its pivotal role in enhancing health services across the state.
Obaseki highlighted the government’s commitment to revamping the healthcare delivery system and praised the collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Health and Emergency Response Africa.
The training of emergency responders aims to bolster the healthcare sector, showcasing the state’s dedication to saving lives.
Obaseki commended the partners involved and emphasized the importance of decentralizing healthcare for an effective Primary Health Care system, underscoring the need for sustaining the Emergency Response Initiative in the state.
Obaseki added that promoting quality healthcare services is dear to the heart of the Edo government and assured that “this service we are launching today can and will be sustained.”
He added, “The idea behind these initiatives is to ensure healthcare gets to the citizens. The responders will be there in under two minutes to help any ailing citizen,” he added.
Obaseki pledged the government’s support to promote excellence in healthcare delivery in Edo and said the government is proud to be a critical partner in saving lives.
