The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has introduced an electronic portal to enhance tax services and streamline tax administration in the region.
Acting Executive Chairman Haruna Abdullahi highlighted that the platform aims to bring convenience, transparency, and accountability to residents in their tax-related activities.
Represented by Chinwe Ndu, acting director of the agency’s tax department, Abdullahi stated that the online portal is designed to usher in an era where taxpayers can efficiently manage their obligations with a simple click.
He emphasized the e-portal’s utilization of technology to facilitate transparent, efficient, and user-friendly interactions between taxpayers and administrators.
“The e-Portal stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to our mission to provide effective and efficient tax administration through continuous innovation,” he said.
“This platform will help us bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, and propel tax management further into the digital age.
“Whether you’re an individual taxpayer, a business owner, or a tax consultant, this platform has been meticulously designed to meet your needs and exceed your expectations.
“Some of the features include the promotion of ease of doing business within the FCT, enhancement of accessibility to important tax-related services, simplified and streamlined tax services among other things.”
On his part, James Olukotun, the acting director of ICT at FCT-IRS, said the portal is a cloud-based application designed for tax collection, receipt, assessment, tax clearance certificate (TCC) management, filing of returns, registration, reporting and all services of revenue management.
