One Hammed Waheed has been apprehended for allegedly stealing 200 bags of cement in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.
The 28-year-old suspect was on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan.
Waheed, whose home address was not divulged, is charged with conspiracy and theft.
According to the police, Waheed allegedly stole the bags of cement belonging to one Tunrayo Adeogun.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that Waheed and others, at large, committed the offense on February 21, at 11:30 am, at Oke-Ado area, Ibadan.
He said the offense violated the provisions of Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N300,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum and then adjourned the case until March 20 for hearing
