Furthermore, Shu’aibu reiterated the state government’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of women and children. He highlighted measures the Governor Uba Sani-led administration implemented to address issues affecting women, including expediting justice in cases concerning them and domesticating the Child Rights Act.

Dr. Hadiza Ali, the state lead of the NBA Women Forum, emphasized the importance of educating women about the fundamentals of the legal profession and mentoring them towards self-reliance.

She underscored the necessity of increased funding for the judiciary to ensure timely dispensation of justice.

During a presentation on the NBAWF’s role in enhancing women’s productivity in legal practice and formal employment, Mrs. Lilian Ilechukwu highlighted challenges faced by women in their careers, such as inflexible working conditions, inadequate remuneration, limited access to lucrative jobs, sexual harassment, and societal stereotypes.
