One shot dead as rival cult groups clash in Delta

At least three people have lost their lives during a clash between two communities in Adamawa State.

The deadly clash happened between the Selti and Kpasham villages in Numan and Demsa local government areas of the state.

The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje.

According to the statement, the state’s Commissioner of Police had led some police operatives to the flash points to restore normalcy.

“Following the report of a communal violence at Selti and Pkasham villages of Numan and Demsa local government areas that resulted in the death of three, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, personally led a team of police operatives to the scene, patrolled, assessed and swiftly restored order,” the statement read.

The command added that investigation is still ongoing to detect and apprehend the perpetrators and collaborators of the violence.

It said it would ensure the prosecution of such people as it would not condone some people taking the law into their hands
