$3.3bn loan: Tinubu’s track record on due process, transparency ‘disgraceful’ – Atiku

Atiku and Tinubu

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, says the antecedent and record of president Bola Tinubu on accountability and probity leaves a lot to be desired.

The accused Tinubu’s government of having a track record of ignoring transparency issues.

Atiku said Tinubu’s government ignores issues of due process in public administration, adding that the unresolved $3.3 billion NNPCL loan is a testament to the corruption and malfeasance that plague with Tinubu’s government.

In a statement on his X page, the former Vice President said it’s highly imperative for Tinubu to address the mind-blowing corruption cases that has become synonymous with his administration.

According to Atiku: “The current federal government has a disgraceful track record of ignoring issues of transparency and due process in public administration.

“The unresolved $3.3 billion NNPCL loan repayment scandal, with Nigeria now expected to repay $12 billion, remains a glaring example.

“The Tinubu administration must address these high-profile corruption cases transparently.

“The National Assembly, as the elected representatives of the people, are constitutionally obligated to legislate for the peace, order, and good governance of our nation, without colluding with corrupt elements.

“Failure to do so and persisting in denial will only confirm the government’s complicity in official malpractice.”
